Initially, I was planning on the horses at a 3/4 angle, but when I started painting the reflections it became clear that the horses needed to be running oceanside. I like that this painting isn't overworked, it's flowing, it's free.. just like the horses.

In 2015, all my hair fell out with my alopecia. For years I hid and cried and was embarrassed to be seen. 10 years later, I did the scariest thing and went to the state fair bald. I was terrified. But you know what? I ended the night feeling totally empowered. I never felt so vulnerable in my life, and I ended up having a night filled with love and support. I started putting my art on clothing to help feel more confident, live boldly, and celebrate feeling beautiful on the outside and inside. It makes me so happy that other women get to feel beautiful and confident too.
