I'm sometimes shy about sharing the story behind a painting, because I really want the viewer to have their own interpretation of a painting. But this painting was created shortly after my second molar (very rare) miscarriage. It was a snowy January, and in my loss I poured my heart into creating a painting about strength and resiliency.   

I love the energy and power of this painting. We go through so much in life, and I'm so grateful to have painting to anchor me and get me through the tough times. 

This painting features my signature ink underlay and oil bar subject matter style. She's a large- scale showcase painting at 48" x 48" size.

Emotional Impact

In 2015, all my hair fell out with my alopecia. For years I hid and cried and was embarrassed to be seen. 10 years later, I did the scariest thing and went to the state fair bald. I was terrified. But you know what? I ended the night feeling totally empowered. I never felt so vulnerable in my life, and I ended up having a night filled with love and support. I started putting my art on clothing to help feel more confident, live boldly, and celebrate feeling beautiful on the outside and inside. It makes me so happy that other women get to feel beautiful and confident too.
